Daddy Yankee has the world record for becoming the first Latin artist to reach number one on Spotify, with songs like “Gasolina” and “Despacito.”

Daddy Yankee, a Puerto Rican rapper, announced his retirement from music on Sunday, following the release of his next studio album and a farewell tour for fans.

His real name is Ramón Ayala, announced his retirement from the music industry in a video addressed to fans in Spanish.

“If you came to my page, here is what I have to say: my career has been a marathon,” the rapper stated in the video, referring to himself as the “King of Reggaeton.” “But, I can now see the goal.”

His career is among his most significant treasures!

Daddy Yankee said in the film that his work is one of his greatest gifts because it has allowed him to inspire other young guys to dream above the constraints that they and others have placed for them.

“Most of us wanted to be drug traffickers in the barrios where we grew up,” Daddy Yankee stated. “I went into the caseros today, and most of them want to be vocalists.” That means a lot to me.”

Daddy Yankee is best known for songs like “Gasolina” and “Despacito,” which have charted on the radio “His fans, he said, helped him open doors for Latin music around the world.

His La Ultima Vuelta World Tour, which will last five months, will begin on August 10 in Portland, Oregon, and end in December. On March 25, pre-sale tickets will go on sale, followed by a general public sale on March 30.

Starting with 2004’s ‘Barrio Fino,’ the first-ever reggaeton album to score at No. 1, Daddy Yankee has had six No. 1s on the Top Latin Albums list. He has 76 entries on Latin Airplay and 86 Hot Latin Songs as of March 2022, including the record-breaking ‘Despacito’ with Luis Fonsi.
